NHS Near Me Video Appointments

NHS Near Me is a secure video consulting service for clinical and wider support appointments.

They take place in your home using a smartphone, tablet or computer.  You and your health care professionals can see and talk to each other via a video link.

What are the benefits of Near Me?

  • Reduced travel to appointments: time, cost, convenience
  • Reduced time away from work, school or home
  • Easier to attend if you usually need someone to take you to appointments
  • Enables you to have someone with you for support at your appointment (either with you or joining the consultation by video from another location, even from abroad)
  • Better for the environment
  • Reduces spread of infectious diseases

To make a Near Me call, you need:

  1.  A device for making a video call, such as a smartphone, tablet or computer with a webcam and speaker (often built into laptops)
  2.  A reliable internet connection – wired or WiFi or mobile data. If you can watch a video online, your connection should be good enough for a video call
  3.  An up to date version of the Chrome, Safari or Edge web browser
  4.  Ideally, a private, well-lit area for your consultation.

To use this service you MUST have BOOKED a video appointment with the practice.
